About the Prison Law Knowledge Hub

The Prison Law Knowledge Hub was developed within the frame of the Project DIGNITY - Bridging views for a rights-based approach to pre-trial detention.
The project brings together the European Prison Litigation Network, the Centre for European Constitutional Law, the Human Rights Centre ZMINA and Forum Penal - Association of Criminal Lawyers. The project aims to strengthen prisoners' access to justice, a crucial pillar of prison safeguard measures, detention and a key guarantor of detainees' fundamental rights.
The Knowledge Hub provides key prison legal resources to prisoners, lawyers, human rights practitioners, and NGOs, supporting their litigation and advocacy efforts to advance prisoners' rights at national, European, and international levels.
The Knowledge Hub includes:
- Essential international and European prison laws and standards
- Landmark case law from courts and human rights bodies
- Curated national practices
- Thematic insights
- Practical tools for prison litigation and advocacy
